What is Manu Ka Rere?

Manu Ka Rere is a health funded mental health and addictions service for young people in Canterbury, New Zealand.

The service was previously known as Community Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) and became Manu Ka Rere in 2021. Read more about us and our story here. 

Who is the service for?

Manu Ka Rere is for young people aged 13-24 years who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health and/or addiction issues.

How do I access the service or refer someone?

Simply complete our online Referral Form and one of our staff will be in touch with you.

Anyone can complete the form – a young person can refer themselves, or it can be done by their whānau such as a parent/caregiver, or a professional such as GP. Please note that signed parental consent is required for those under 16.

and email it to referrals@manukarere.org.nz
